Hydraulic Tube Nuts
Hydraulic tubing is often joined together or joined to a machine or bulkhead by compression fittings. Compression fittings have a nut and a sleeve on one or more ends. When the fitting is placed on the end of the tubing, the nut is tightened on the sleeve (or ferrule) that is inside, and it compresses onto the tubing, thus sealing the connection. The nuts come with the fittings, and may be reusable, but often they can get compromised when being tightened or get lost when the fitting is being assembled and disassembled.
Metric and Multistandard sells separate metric hydraulic tube nuts for occasions when additional nuts are needed for compression fittings. Hydraulic Tube Nuts are available in three materials: Steel with zinc plating, Brass, and A4 (316) Stainless Steel. The material of the tube nuts is designed to match the material of the compression fittings.
The tube nuts come in three pressure ratings which match the pressure ratings of the fittings. There is LL for light pressure, L for medium pressure, and S for heavy pressure. The nuts are not interchangeable from one pressure rating to another for the same diameter. The nuts have an internal thread that must match the external thread on the compression fitting.
