Hydraulic Adapters and Reducers
Hydraulic adapters and reducers are used when different sizes of pipe threads or tubing are being used on different pieces of equipment and they need to be joined together. Metric and Multistandard can supply a wide variety of hydraulic adapters and reducers.

Some go from internal thread to external thread, some go from external thread to external thread, some go from internal thread to internal thread, and some go from tubing to male thread. There are adapters for a larger thread to a smaller thread, adapters from one type of thread to another, such as BSP to NPT, and adapters to connect from a fitting to a different type of male end. The adapters are normally in steel with zinc plating, but many items are also available in Stainless Steel.

Hydraulic tube end reducers are used to go from one size of tubing to a smaller size. The most common type has a nut attached on one end that screws onto the nut end of an existing fitting and a nut and sleeve (ferrule) that fits onto a smaller size of tubing. That end is a compression fitting, where it is placed over the end of the tubing, the nut is tightened and the sleeve is compressed onto the tubing to seal the connection. There are also reducers that can directly connect a larger size of hydraulic tubing to a smaller size.
