Flat Head Cross Recessed Thread Cutting Screws 7516 D

Cross Recessed Flat Head Thread Cutting Screws are threaded fasteners with a machine screw thread that will cut its own thread as it is driven into an unthreaded pilot hole. Metric Cross Recessed Flat Head Thread Cutting Screws have a round head that is flat on the top and tapered on the bottom with a crossed recessed drive that can be driven with a Phillips screw driver. Cross Recessed Drive Flat Head Thread Cutting Screws are intended to be used with countersunk holes leaving the top of the screw flush with the mating surface of the object it is fastening. Thread Cutting Screws will create some chips as they are driven into an unthreaded hole that will be pushed forward. Thread Cutting Screws generally require less torque to install than thread forming screws and can be used in applications when the torque required for thread forming screws is undesirable. When installed correctly Metric Thread Cutting Screws create a tight fit with the mating part and normally do not require the use of a lock washer to prevent it from loosening.

The dimensions of the head of a Cross Recessed Flat Head Thread Cutting Screw are per DIN 965.
