Double End Stud 938

Double End Studs are threaded fasteners that have a thread on both ends with an unthreaded portion in between the two threaded ends. Double ends studs are designed to be used where one of the threaded ends is installed in a tapped hole and a hex nut used on the other end to clamp a fixture onto the surface that the stud has been threaded into.

Tap End Studs

Another name that is also sometimes used for Double End Studs is Tap End Stud. A Tap End Stud will have different thread lengths on both ends. It has one short thread that is intended to be used in a tapped hole. For Metric Double Ends Studs the thread of the tap end is not included in the nominal length of the stud. DIN 938 Double End Studs have a tap end that is equal to the diameter of the stud. For example: DIN 938 M10 X 40 the overall length is 50mm. Metric & Multistandard Components Corp. offers Double End Studs in DIN 938 in Property Class 5.8, Stainless Steel, and Brass.
