Hollow Screws

  • hollow_screw_short_thread_7643

The types of hollow screws that are sold by Metric & Multistandard are designed to be used with hydraulic tubing. They have a male end with metric pipe thread that is designed to be screwed into a machine or bulkhead. The other end has a hex head on it, so that a wrench can be used to screw the hollow screw into the internal thread in the equipment. There is a hole on the middle of the body of the hollow screw. A banjo fitting is normally placed over the body, or shank, of the hollow screw before it is screwed into the machinery.

The banjo fitting is on the end of a piece of hydraulic tubing. This allows the fluid to flow from the tubing through the banjo fitting, through the hollow screw and into or out of the machinery.Metric hollow screws come in two types, one with a long thread and one with a short thread. The application determines which one would work best. Hollow Screws are called out by nominal sizes, so it is important to look carefully at the specifications on our catalog page to get the correct size. The recommended size of banjo fitting to be used with each hollow screw is also on the page.
