End mills come in 2 different cutting styles; center cutting and end cutting allowing for a wide variety of machining applications. Metric ball end mills are available in many radius sizes. Metric end mills can generally cut in all directions although; there are some end mills that cannot be used to cut axially like a drill bit. End mills come in metric shank, American shank, or collet sizes. Metric end mills are made of HSS, solid carbide, or cobalt allowing the flexibility of machining a wide variety of materials.
